If you are at a loss when it comes to the perfect gift for that hard-to-shop-for friend, family member, or neighbor, or are trying to find a suitable gift for a colleague or client, consider a fruit basket. Fruit baskets make excellent gifts, especially for those individuals who have everything. Instead of giving a monetary gift or gift card that lacks personality, consider choosing a fruit basket that includes the recipient?s favorite fruits and healthy snacks. Since the contents are generally healthier fare than the typical junk foods that tempt the taste buds and expand the waist line, a fruit basket can be enjoyed guilt free!
Fruit baskets make great gifts for:
? College students: College students are notoriously poor eaters. Especially during stressful times surrounding midterms and final exams, college kids do not receive the proper nutrition?and proper nutrition will allow them to excel in their studies. Gift your college student with a fruit basket filled with fresh fruit and other healthy, nutritious snacks to show your love and support. Furthermore, since fruit baskets can be consumed, they will not take up precious space in dormitory rooms like other superfluous gifts.
? Campers: For those with younger children, consider sending a fruit basket to your favorite camper to ease homesickness while providing a healthy approach to snacks. Campers enjoy the thought of gifts while away from home, and fruit baskets are perfect for sharing the contents with bunk mates and newly made friends.
? Dieters: What better way to show your support of a dieter who has either just begun a newer, healthier lifestyle or is currently working his or her way to the goal line. Fruit baskets will relieve some of the sweet temptations that cause most dieters to stray while showing the individual that you support their decision to eat and live healthier.
? Business Associates: When it comes time to purchase gifts for those in the business world, the task can be quite daunting. Unwritten rules in the business world provide razor-thin guidelines for what gifts?and price ranges?are appropriate, so instead of trying to figure out who receives what, send a fruit basket instead. Perfect for new clients or old business relations, fruit baskets allow you to express a sentiment without having to worry about what to buy and how much to spend. Also, fruit baskets can be shared within the company easily, so everyone can enjoy the gift.
? Elderly friends, neighbors, or family members: Many elderly individuals find themselves faced with too much ?stuff? in their lives. Especially if they are downsizing to a more comfortable home, these extras can quickly overwhelm their homes. Instead of purchasing gifts that will only add to the space problem or sit unused, consider sending a gift basket instead. Gift baskets are perfect ways to provide elderly friends, neighbors, or family members with healthy fare while giving a lovely gift.
? New Homeowners: If you have been recently invited to a housewarming party or know of a couple or family who has just moved into a new home, then consider giving a fruit basket. Especially when faced with meeting new neighbors, a fruit basket is an excellent gift that everyone will enjoy. Furthermore, a fruit basket will provide the family with a bit of healthy food while the cupboards are still being stocked.
? Anyone: Regardless who you gift, a fruit basket is the perfect idea. Allowing you to provide a gift that requires thought without knowing a great deal about the recipient, a fruit basket will save you a great deal of time, hassle, and worry about finding that perfect gift.

How Are Jelly Beans Made
by: Gray Rollins
One of the questions that I hear all of the time as a candy manufacturer is "how are jelly beans made?" This is a very important question and one that has a solid place in history.
All jelly beans are made up of a few basic ingredients. These ingredients include sugar, starch and corn syrup. These are the bases with which the jelly beans are made, there are of course other things used to flavor and color the beans but the above are the main body of the jelly beans. http://www.youreaster.com/jellybeans/howarejellybeansmade/
For the most part jelly beans are flavored by fruit juices, artificial flavoring, fruit pectin or powders. The flavors will generally match with the color of the beans and the colors are created with dyes.
Some of the jelly beans that are manufactured for today's market contain no fat and...

Beware The Food Pyramid
by: David McCarthy
The food pyramid was issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in the early 1990s as part of a program to encourage the growth of healthy eating habits from a young age. From the outset schools that were keen to introduce healthy eating habits from junior school level upwards embraced it. We all accepted that USDA had produced a new key to guide us in how to eat healthily and start the battle against obesity from a young age. Time has since taught us that the Food Pyramid was based upon some unsound scientific data and the Department of Nutrition at Harvard School of Public Health has since corrected the base knowledge by using up to date scientific data that has now replaced the original Pyramid. On a personal note I think the original Food Pyramid was great and a definite step in the right direction. This new approach is based upon more accurate scientific data and is therefore better to use.

Growing Hybrid Grapes
by: Jim Bruce
Growing hybrid grapes is becoming more popular for wine and eating.
This popularity comes from the fact that hybrid grapes can be grown in areas where the traditional European grapes cannot survive.
It also comes about because more and more people are growing grapes in their backyard to produce their own vintage wine.
What are hybrid grapes?
To answer this question, we must look back in history about 100 years to when the European vineyards were being decimated by the phylloxera louse that had been brought from North America.
The European grape species, Vitis vinifera, is extremely susceptible to this louse.
Vineyard after vineyard was succumbing to this imported pest as well as to grape diseases that had also come from America.
But Native American species of grapes had evolved with the pest and were resistant to its attacks on the vine's roots.

Attracting Birds to a Tropical Garden
by: Brian Ramsey
Some individuals enjoy bird watching but prefer to do their bird watching in their back yard. Below is some advice on attracting wild birds to your back yard.
Firstly it depends upon having wild birds in the general area where your house is located and then you can attract then to your backyard.
The method used to attract the birds will depend upon what is the diet of the bird. If the bird is a nectar feeder e.g. bananaquits or hummingbirds, then large flowering plants will attract them. Hummingbird bills are perfectly adapted to the various types of flowers that they feed on, so different types of flowers will attract different hummingbirds. Some hummingbirds have especially curved or elongated bills that allow them to feed on special flowers, eg the White-tipped Sicklebill hummingbird whose downward curving bill allows it to draw nectar from
heliconias. The

How Often Should I Change My Vacuum Bag?
by: Kevin Haynes
We're often asked: How often should I change my vacuum cleaner bag?
The answer - there is no set answer. But there are some easy guidelines to follow.
First, understand that vacuum cleaners work by moving air through the machine, and that movement is air is what picks up the dirt. When that air movement is restricted - such as from a nearly full vacuum bag - your performance suffers greatly.
